Our Home & Visitation Policy
Raising Happy, Healthy Puppies in the Heart of Our Home
At A’Lord Miniature Schnauzer, we are a small, home-based breeder. Our dogs and puppies are never housed in separate buildings—they live as part of our family. Because of this, when we receive requests to “tour our facility,” it essentially means touring our personal home.
We understand that many families want to see where our dogs live and where their future puppy will be raised. While we are happy to share parts of our home, there are limitations due to insurance policies and privacy. That said, you can still get a great look into our daily life through our public Facebook page, A'Lord Miniature Schnauzer, where we regularly post photos and updates about our dogs and puppies.
Since we only have a few litters a year, we prepare a dedicated puppy area in a family room of our home.
Protecting Our Puppies from Parvovirus
As a former veterinary technician, I take disease prevention very seriously. Parvovirus is a significant concern in our area. To prevent any risk of contamination, we strictly limit foot traffic on our property.
Visitation Policy
In the understanding compromise, we do allow visits by appointment once a pregnancy is confirmed—but only for those on the advanced waiting list for that litter. These visits are designed so you can meet us and the dam and sire of your future puppy.
We do our best to accommodate visitors, but your ability to visit at a specific time may be impacted by:
• Newborn puppies from a previous litter who are still on-site
• Unvaccinated breeding prospects
• Veterinary, training, or showing commitments
Visitor Precautions
To help us keep our puppies safe, we ask all visitors to take the following precautions:
• No pets may be brought to the visit
• Avoid visiting pet stores, vet offices, groomers, breeders, rescues, shelters, or boarding facilities, few days of your visit. Certain diseases can be carried in on your clothes and shoes.
• Use a shoe disinfectant bath and wear hospital-grade shoe covers (we provide both)
When weather permits, visits will take place in our front yard.
Post-Purchase Visits
Once a non refundable reservation hold on a puppy(once they receive their 1st set of vaccinations), you will be invited inside for puppy visitation, selection, and to see the puppy area. Puppy pick-up and going-home day happens at 10 weeks of age.
Thank you for understanding and for helping us protect our dogs and puppies. Your cooperation allows us to raise the healthiest, happiest Miniature Schnauzers possible—right here in our home.
