After our next two litters, we will be offering a nonrefundable holding fee for the 1st and 2nd picks of males and females in each litter. This ensures your spot on our list for any future litters. In the past, we’ve encountered situations where people joined the list but did not follow through, causing complications. By implementing this new policy, we can better plan for future litters and ensure that only dedicated clients are on the waiting list.
We’ve been breeding Miniature Schnauzers since 1986, and while the world has changed, our passion for this incredible breed remains strong. We are committed to keeping up with the times, making the process as smooth as possible for our clients while continuing to provide top-quality puppies.
Thank you for considering A' Lord Miniature Schnauzers for your future companion! Feel free to contact us with any questions or to begin the reservation process.
I absolutely love this perspective ❣️
You might be wondering why the price of a puppy is what it is. The truth is, the cost reflects much more than just the puppy itself—it represents the dedication, time, and effort that goes into raising healthy, well-adjusted dogs. These are not just dogs that sit around in a yard, eating generic food, waiting to be bred with little to no care or oversight.
Many people have this misconception that puppies magically appear after 63 days, requiring only minimal care before being sold off. But reputable breeders know the reality is quite different.
Reputable breeders, like us, spend tens of thousands of dollars each year to ensure the best care for our dogs. This includes:
This isn’t just a casual process. We are with our puppies 24/7, especially during the critical first four weeks. During the entire 10-week period that they are with us, we provide round-the-clock care, ensuring they grow into healthy, socialized puppies ready for their new homes.
Raising puppies requires constant monitoring. We monitor their weights and feedings every 2-3 hours for the first 28 days, which sometimes includes bottle-feeding or even tube-feeding for puppies who may be struggling. On occasion, puppies may need antibiotics, fluids, and other medications if they’re not developing as expected. This requires hands-on care and often involves seeking out specialized knowledge, as even many veterinarians are unfamiliar with the unique challenges of caring for newborn puppies, or neonates.
Our dedication means putting our own needs aside. We routinely cancel vacations, social events, and family celebrations such as birthdays or anniversaries. For the safety and health of the puppies, our lives are temporarily put on hold.
Breeding isn’t just a hobby—it’s a lifestyle. We experience both joy and heartache during the process. Sometimes we endure losses or struggles behind the scenes that go unnoticed, but through it all, we are there for the dogs and their new families.
This process also takes a physical toll. The constant care and commitment can lead to exhaustion and illness for us, but we persist because of our passion for these dogs and our dream to better the breed.
Even when we don’t have puppies, our daily routines don’t stop. We’re still caring for our adult dogs, maintaining our home, and continuously educating ourselves to ensure that we are providing the best possible care for every dog in our program.
We don’t just disappear once the puppy is placed in its new home. We are there for life. We offer guidance, support, and advice to our adopters, forming a relationship that extends far beyond the adoption day. Once you choose one of our puppies, you become part of our extended family, and we are there to assist you throughout your dog’s life.
When you see a bargain price for a puppy, it’s important to consider the long-term costs. Often, puppies sold at lower prices come from breeders who may not be providing the same level of care, health testing, or attention to socialization. While the initial cost might seem attractive, the long-term expenses—vet bills, behavioral issues, or health problems—can far outweigh any upfront savings.
By choosing a reputable breeder who prioritizes the health, well-being, and proper upbringing of their puppies, you’re investing in a dog that has been given the best possible start in life.
Breeding is far more than just producing puppies—it’s about ensuring that each puppy is healthy, well-adjusted, and ready for a loving home. We pour our hearts, time, and resources into every litter, making sure that they are not just pets, but lifelong companions for families who have dreamed about bringing one home.
So the next time you question the price of a well-bred puppy, think about the love, dedication, and sacrifice that goes into ensuring that puppy is the very best it can be. Is the price really too high, or is it a fair reflection of the work and commitment that responsible breeders
